Monique Jones is a New York native, Art Therapist and an intuitive catalyst that inspires creative transformation in adults, teens and children of all ages. With her combined knowledge, skills and training in the fields of Art Therapy, mental health counseling and applied behavior analysis (ABA) her intentions are to effectively provide treatment to diverse populations with a span of varying goals and treatment needs.In 2019, Monique graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Textile Design. Later in 2021, she completed her studies at Long Island University’s CAAHEP accredited program, and now possesses a Master of Arts (MA) in Clinical Art Therapy and Professional Counseling. Monique encourages and supports clients’ ability to authentically express themselves through art as a way to discover self-awareness and increase self-esteem and self-love. Monique has worked extensively with at-risk youth, adults and their families in both in-patient and outpatient settings on Long Island. In addition to utilizing the creative process of art making her work incorporates therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Overall, Monique creates a comfortable atmosphere for her clients to feel safe, and willing to explore their emotions on a deeper level without judgement. The work she has done and aspires to continue with her clients, is fueled by her vision to encourage clients to recognize that the art of being happy starts within & that therapy is the gift that we all should give ourselves.
